Meghan Markle’s upcoming solo podcast with Lemonada Media is a significant step in her post-royal career, challenging her to stay “engaged, humble, and interesting,” according to an entertainment expert. This new venture follows the dissolution of her joint Spotify partnership with Prince Harry eight months ago.

Announcing the partnership in February 2024, Meghan expressed pride in joining the female-founded company and enthusiasm for her “dynamic new podcast.” However, three months later, updates on its progress are still awaited. Meghan is also working on a new Netflix lifestyle show and launching her American Riviera Orchard brand.

Mark Boardman, founder of MarkMeets, told Newsweek that Meghan should focus on authenticity and substance, drawing on the success of her previous podcast series, Archetypes, which earned her a People’s Choice and Gracie award. Lemonada Media’s socially conscious content aligns well with Meghan’s advocacy and storytelling interests.

This partnership signals Meghan’s intent to carve out her own identity separate from the royal sphere, leveraging her acting skills in entertainment. Boardman emphasized that her PR team would likely advise against sensational royal revelations, encouraging more substantive content. Transitioning away from royal bombshells is crucial, as Meghan has previously benefited from the attention these brought to her projects, such as the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and the Archetypes podcast.

The first two episodes of the new podcast will be critical in setting its direction and securing positive feedback for long-term success.
