WNBA fans have officially lost their patience with Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides.
The Fever appeared to be well on their way to picking up their second win of the season on Tuesday night. Caitlin Clark was playing extremely well and Aliyah Boston was imposing her will in the paint.
Everything changed when Sides decided to give Clark some rest in the third quarter. Before the No. 1 pick went to the bench, her team had a lead over the Sparks.
In a matter of minutes, the Fever gave up an 11-0 run. The Sparks never gave up momentum after reclaiming the lead.
While it’s not sustainable for Clark to play every minute of every game, fans believe Sides picked a poor time to rest her star point guard.
“Christie Sides is the worst coach in the WNBA,” one person wrote on X.
Another person said, “Christie Sides might be the worst professional basketball coach I’ve ever seen… I’m genuinely in awe, like it gets worse every game!”
“You actually have to find it kind of admirable how BAD Christie Sides is,” a third fan commented.
“Drink every time Christie Sides rotates in the worst players when the Fever are finally ahead,” a social media user added.
Sides has been facing a ton of heat for the Fever’s poor start to the season. To be fair, the WNBA didn’t exactly give them a favorable schedule.
