Angel Reese is all set to exhibit her skills on a professional court. The Chi-town Barbie is expected to make her debut in the Sky’s regular season opener at the College Park Center. Anyhow, before this highly anticipated clash commences, there is a sense of disappointment and frustration surrounding Reese’s fans.
The WNBA announced the arrival of the two-time All-American forward at the College Park Center on their official X page. However, the platform provided for the fans to experience the game has no details provided about any broadcasting partner. Moreover, it also specified that the game will stream live on their X page only.
This is not the first instance where one of Reese’s games is not airing by any major broadcasting agency. Previously, the pre-season clash featuring the Chicago Sky and the Minnesota Lynx succumbed to a similar fate. It was courtesy of a fan present at the Target Center who streamed the game live that around 200,000 fans were able to enjoy those 40 minutes.
Consequently, this didn’t go down well with the fans as they are laying out their anger and resentment towards this disrespect on social media.
Fans baffled about the absence of Angel Reese debut game from TV
Indirectly referring to Caitlin Clark, who made her debut with massive streaming numbers, one fan pointed out the double standards displayed by the organization towards the debut of both these players. The fan wrote, “So, we gotta watch Angel Reese’s DEBUT on X but everyone else gets the red carpet rolled out as far as broadcast goes. The disrespect.”

Meanwhile, one of the X users wasn’t happy that ESPN2 chose not to telecast the game on Reese’ debut, instead making it available via WNBA League Pass. The user further added that the broadcasting agency also showed its true colors. The post said, “So ESPN2 is not broadcasting Angel Reese’s debut? They love to show their true colors.”

Also, some were eager to witness Angel Reese, the record setter of NCAA single season double-doubles, in action on national television. One of them said, “Angel Reese should be on national TV,” considering her famed presence and celebrated skills.

Another X user wanted to convey the fact that Angel Reese is just as big a player as Caitlin Clark. On top of that, he also pointed out that Reese deserves some respect as she is a role model to so many young black females. Tagging WNBA, the fan tweeted, “@WNBA how come @chicagosky game is not on tv? But damn put some RESPECT on Reese’s name. What about all the young black females? Do better.” Reese has previously spoken of her intentions to help inspire those who follow. ““I enjoy being able to leave my impact and give young girls the confidence that they can do these things,” she had said.
@WNBA how come @chicagosky game is not on tv? Don’t forget Angel Reese is as big as Clark. Do not make this a black and White thing cause we fuck with Clark too. But damn put some RESPECT on Reese’s name. What about all the young black females? They don’t count? Do better. 💯

Some simply wanted to know the reason behind the game was not being broadcast. This was reflected in some of the tweets like, “Why is Angel Reese and Cameron Brink not on tv ?”

It is indeed a curious state of affairs that Reese’s games are not televised for the audience. Hopefully, some steps can soon be taken in this direction to meet the fans’ demands.
