Meghan Markle Faces Renewed Defamation Lawsuit from Half-Sister Samantha Markle

Meghan Markle is being sued for $75,000 by her half-sister, Samantha Markle, over allegations made during Meghan’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. Samantha claims that Meghan’s statements about their lack of a relationship growing up damaged her credibility and resulted in lost earnings from her book, *The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister Part 1*.

Samantha previously filed a similar lawsuit, which was dismissed in March 2023. The judge ruled that Meghan’s comments were her opinion and not objectively verifiable. Despite this setback, Samantha has amended her court documents and is pursuing the case again.

Experts believe Samantha’s defamation claims lack factual evidence and are unlikely to succeed. Christopher Bouzy of Bot Sentinel, who previously analyzed the case, reaffirmed that the allegations are unfounded and emphasized that neither he nor his firm has any financial ties to Meghan or Prince Harry.

The case is scheduled to be heard on November 4, 2024, with a five-day trial anticipated. Whether the amended lawsuit will succeed remains uncertain, especially given the outcome of the previous case.
