Former Iowa Hawkeyes teammates Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin were matched up as WNBA opponents for the first time on Saturday, when the Indiana Fever took on the Las Vegas Aces.

Martin’s Aces ultimately got the better of Clark’s Fever, as Las Vegas won the game 99-80 while holding Clark to just 8 points in 29 minutes.

Martin (who finished the game with 12 points in 22 minutes) shared some great moments with Clark before, during, and after the game.

A few of which were when Clark was guarding Martin, and when the two checked in to the game at the same time.

After the game ended, Martin detailed how she felt about playing Clark.

“It was weird, I’m not gonna lie,” Martin said when asked about playing against Clark. “Just looking out on the court, and, you know, seeing her in a different jersey than me. It was obviously different, but, you know, we’re both living out our dream right now, and we both get to compete at the highest level.

“So we’re both really grateful for that opportunity,” Martin concluded.
