The countdown to one of the strangest matchups in recent boxing history, the Saturday, July 20 fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, is nearing the month-to-go mark.
The bout was announced in March, though it was another month before it was revealed that this would be a sanctioned, professional fight.
Jake Paul and Mike Tyson came face to face at their New York City press conference at the Apollo Theater on May 13.
Paul and Tyson will square off in an officially sanctioned heavyweight fight on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
So far, the build-up has been one of mutual respect between the fighters rather than the usual press conference sniping, leading to speculation that this could be more of a hugfest than a slugfest.
So where are we now?
The Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight is scheduled for Saturday, July 20, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The time has not been announced yet.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations announced it is sanctioning this as a professional fight. It will consist of eight 2-minute rounds with 14-ounce gloves.

In a May 13 press conference, the two expressed admiration for each other, and the only shoving at the obligatory press conference was in fun. The two seem actually to like each other.
The 57-year-old Tyson confessed to struggling with his fitness in the build-up: My body is (expletive) right now,” he admitted on Monday. “I’m really sore.”
In the closest thing that came to trash talk, Paul said, “They call him Iron Mike Tyson, but I’m Titanium Jake Paul.”

Jake Paul is a slight favorite. The current odds are Jake Paul: -180 (bet $180 to win $100), Mike Tyson +135 (bet $100 to win $133.50).
Tickets on the secondary market range from $107 to $55,804, though that last number is an outlier. Ringside seats are listed beginning at $2,575. Fans can get near the floor for $300.
