A portrait of Prince Harry and Meghan by photographer Misan Harriman has been added to the permanent collection of London’s National Portrait Gallery, whose patron is the Princess of Wales. Harriman, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s preferred photographer, shared the news on social media, expressing pride and humility.

The portrait, taken during the One Young World summit in Manchester in September 2022, features the couple holding hands and looking into the distance, noted for its lighting and soft focus. Meghan is dressed in a bright red outfit from AnotherTomorrow with Aquazzura heels, while Prince Harry wears a dark blue suit.

The National Portrait Gallery, which houses an extensive collection of portraits spanning six centuries, has been supported by the Princess of Wales since 2012. She has collaborated with the gallery on projects like her lockdown photography initiative, Hold Still.

Harriman, celebrated for being the first black man to shoot a British Vogue cover, has frequently worked with Harry and Meghan, including covering their recent trip to Nigeria and taking remote photos to announce Meghan’s second pregnancy. The gallery spokesperson noted that the portrait is currently being catalogued and has no immediate display plans.
