This year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose a quiet Father’s Day, breaking from their usual public tributes. Royal commentator Jack Royston noted this shift, suggesting it marks a “new era” of increased privacy for the couple.

Royston told Newsweek, “It’s interesting that we didn’t get any Father’s Day content from Harry and Meghan. They really seem to be prioritizing keeping their children private.” The couple has rarely shared images of their children, Archie and Lilibet, this year. Royston speculated that this trend might continue, saying, “We’ve had nothing this year of Lilibet and nothing for Father’s Day. It feels like we perhaps won’t see the kids again.”

This move towards privacy is consistent with Meghan’s past actions to protect her personal life. In 2021, she won a legal battle against the Mail on Sunday for publishing parts of a private letter to her estranged father, Thomas Markle. The court ruled that the publication was a “triple-barreled invasion” of her privacy.

By choosing to keep their Father’s Day celebration private, the Sussexes are clearly trying to balance their public roles with their desire to protect their family. This decision underscores their commitment to shielding their children from excessive media scrutiny while continuing to engage with the world on their terms.
