Following the ceremony, Prince William departed the army base in a black helicopter, accompanied by his new unit.
This joint engagement marks a significant moment for King Charles and Prince William, their first since 2022. The father and son shared laughs as Charles presented William with an Army Air Corps beret and belt, signifying William’s new role in the 662 Squadron.
Notably, the event coincided with Prince Harry’s departure from Nigeria after a three-day tour with Meghan, his wife. In his speech, King Charles praised William’s piloting skills and expressed pride in his involvement with the Army Air Corps.
After donning his new uniform and blue beret, Prince William received gifts for his family, including an Army Air Corps tartan wrap for the Princess of Wales and wooden helicopters for George, Charlotte, and Louis.
