Jimmy Kimmel had a lot of say about Hailey Bieber at the Academy Awards, specifically harsh comments about what he thinks about her appearance.

While fans have called out the talk show host for his mean words, one person who’s saying silent is Hailey’s husband Justin Bieber, a move that comes amid reports of marital problems between the pair.

During his opening monologue at the 2024 Oscars, Jimmy referred to Hailey as “heavily botoxed” and a “gluten sensitive nepo baby.”

Jimmy specifically said, “Heavily botoxed Hailey Bieber smoothie drinking, diabetes prescription abusing, gluten sensitive nepo babies with perpetually shivering chihuahuas.”

Hailey, who’s the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and comes from a family of entertainers, recently launched her own smoothie at Erehwon, an expensive grocery store chain in the U.S., which Jimmy was clearly referring to.

Hailey wasn’t the only celebrity to feel Jimmy’s wrath that evening, as he made jokes about everyone from actor Robert Downey Jr. to U.S. Senator Katie Britt, comments which have gotten Kimmel extensive backlash from people online who thought the jokes went too far and were tasteless.

“The hailey bieber hate is so forced and tired at this point,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after Jimmy’s comments, while another simply said, “Leave this woman alone.”

Another critic said, “He was obviously talking about the ‘hailey bieber smoothie’ and wasn’t being shady, but this was so [badly] worded and unfunny.”

Hailey’s Father Asked Fans To Pray For Her And Justin Recently

Hailey has stayed silent on Jimmy’s comments, and so has her husband Justin Bieber, a move which may come as the couple attempt to maintain a low profile in the face of various rumors about their relationship. While break-up rumors have been circulating for a while, Hailey’s father Stephen had a hand in perpetuating them when he asked fans to pray for the couple earlier this month.

Sharing to Instagram, Stephen shared a reel from Victor Marx, which read, “Christians, please when you think of Justin & Hailey, take a moment to offer a little prayer for them to have wisdom, protection and to draw close to the Lord.”

The pastor added, “There are special challenges that folks in high visibility positions face.”

Hailey and Justin’s relationship has been a rollercoaster ride in the public eye. The duo initially sparked dating rumors in 2015 but faced intermittent periods of being on and off. In July 2018, the couple surprised fans by announcing their engagement only months rekindling of their romance. Later that year, in September, they got legally married in a New York City courthouse. However, they held a formal wedding ceremony in September 2019, surrounded by family and friends.

Prior to their marriage, both Hailey and Justin were involved in high-profile relationships. Justin notably dated Selena Gomez on and off for several years, captivating the attention of fans worldwide. Hailey, on the other hand, was linked to Canadian singer Shawn Mendes before reconnecting with Justin. But if the rumors prove to be true, Justin and Hailey may currently be navigating a rocky patch.
