1 month ago, the online community has been buzzing with a series of videos from an overseas TikTok account named Reesa Teesa, where this woman narrates the entire saga of her marriage to her ex-husband.
To recount her bizarre marriage, Reesa Teesa uploaded a lengthy series of 50 parts, each about 10 minutes long, titled “Who the F*** Did I Marry.”
Her captivating story garnered millions of views for each video, skyrocketing her TikTok account to 2.1 million followers in just a few days. Not only causing a stir among international netizens, Teesa’s videos also attracted attention from users in Vietnam. In fact, Teesa’s series sparked a trend on TikTok, with countless users sharing images of themselves eagerly watching Teesa spill the beans everywhere, from mealtime, bathing, and bedtime to work.
With such a massive viewership, it’s speculated that Teesa has earned a significant income from TikTok. So how much money did these videos really bring in for her? Like all social media platforms that pay creators, TikTok never publicly discloses the figures it pays out. However, last year, the company transitioned from the Creator Fund to the Creator Program, declaring that it pays creators over 20 times more than before, equivalent to about $1 per 1,000 views. As of February 21st, the total views on Teesa’s posted videos have reached around 150 million views. Since Teesa’s videos are about 10 minutes long, platforms may pay even more for longer videos. If TikTok operates similarly, in reality, Teesa could earn $4 or $5 for every 1,000 views, potentially raising her earnings to $400,000 USD for this series of videos.
Regarding Teesa, she has not disclosed the amount she earned from TikTok. Additionally, The Root suggests that besides receiving money from TikTok, Teesa might also receive a substantial sum if her story is adapted into a film, similar to many other real-life stories turned into movies.
