Money is clearly on Angel Reese’s mind.
Angel Reese is not shy about the money she makes
Angel Reese is making a fortune at LSU, and she is not shy about reminding her opponents.
The Bayou Barbie is well-known for her arrogance on the court, and she showed it again on national TV as the No. 13 Tigers defeated Tennessee 75-60 on the road.
Her trash talk didn’t stop after the final buzzer, marching over toward the Tennessee players and sending a belittling message to the Vols’ less-fortunate student-athletes.
It was unclear which player her comments were aimed at, but it followed a full game of disrespectful back-and-forths between Reese and a number of Tennessee players. She was also spotted on the free throw line trash talking an opponent.
How much does Angel Reese make from NIL?
When the LSU star called those Tennessee players “broke,” it was likely more of a nod to the wealth she has amassed in Baton Rouge.
Her array of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deals includes companies like Beats by Dre, Reebok, Amazon and others.
Reese’s net worth is $1.7 million, according to the most recent numbers from On3 Sports.
She ranks as the top earner in women’s college basketball by nearly $600,000, ahead of her teammate Flau’jae Johnson. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark’s NIL portfolio does not crack the $1 million mark.
Fans love Angel Reese’s trash talk
As condescending as it may feel for her opponents, Reese’s sharp tongue has won her a lot of fans on social media.
After seeing the postgame video, one Twitter/X user described her trash talk skills as “generational.”
Her most famous example of mid game taunting came in last year’s NCAA Championship Game, when Reese famously got in Clark’s face, sparking nationwide outrage.
These days, some fans prefer her approach to Clark’s mild-mannered, machine-like scoring.
“Angel Reese is my Caitlin Clark,” a user wrote on Twitter along with the video of her against Tennessee talking at the free throw line.
