‘She’s been a really tough assistant,’ Angie said about Vivienne’s theatre expertise in a new interview while discussing her Broadway production, ‘The Outsiders.’
Angelina Jolie unveiled the family’s reigning “theatre head,” none other than her daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt. At 15 years old, Vivienne is deeply immersed in the latest Broadway venture, The Outsiders, produced by her mother, the Oscar winner aged 48.
In an interview with PEOPLE at the premiere of the production in New York City on Thursday, April 11, Angelina shared Vivienne’s significant role behind the scenes. “She’s the one who keeps me in check,” Angelina revealed. “She’ll remind me, ‘Did you not get the memo? We need to do this, we have to go through this.'” Vivienne’s commitment to her assistant duties is commendable, with Angelina noting her daughter’s serious approach to the task.
Accompanied by Vivienne, Angelina graced the red carpet, where they posed for photographs together. Angelina dazzled in a gold dress paired with a light brown cape, accentuated by ruby red lipstick and her hair styled elegantly. Meanwhile, Vivienne opted for a chic dark blue jumpsuit paired with matching Converse sneakers, exuding effortless teenage flair for the occasion.
That night, Angelina was captured strolling through the streets of New York City with her daughter Vivienne and her son Pax Jolie-Pitt.
Vivienne’s passion for the performing arts is evident, as she has displayed interest in acting. She notably shared the screen with her mother in Maleficent, portraying the young Princess Aurora.
The Broadway production held special significance for Angelina, who had previously expressed her deep involvement and gratitude for the project. In an earlier interview with the same publication, she described it as a “privilege to be a part of the process,” highlighting the project as a labor of love.
“I have so much respect for Broadway and all who work within,” she added. “I’ve been in the theater watching as the first reactions came in, including the often very emotional reaction from young people. It’s very moving.”
When it comes to her six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox — Angie has ensured they were a part of her successful career. Over the past several years, the Maleficent actress, who shares her kids with ex-husband Brad Pitt, brought her kids along to various red carpet events around the world.
Among the most famous occasions was in late 2021 when Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 17, tagged along with their mom to several international premieres of Eternals. At the time, the teens wore some of Angie’s old dresses to the events.
