Caitlin Clark said all the right things publicly when discussing her snubbing from the U.S. women’s basketball Summer Olympics roster.

“I’m excited for the girls that are on the team,” she said. “I’m excited for them, going to be rooting them on to win gold. I was a kid who grew up watching the Olympics and it’ll be fun watching.”

She added: “Honestly, no disappointment. It just gives me something to work for.”

Privately, however, Clark apparently told her coach that the selection committee “woke a monster” by snubbing her. We know that because Clark’s head coach, Christie Sides, told the media.

WNBA fans are criticizing Sides for sharing the private text message.

“Coach could’ve kept that text private. Swear they can’t go a week without slander,” one fan wrote.

“Giving this answer after the player handled the situation as perfectly as possible is quite the choice,” one fan added.

“Sorry to say but I just don’t think Coach Sides is gonna be the HC next season but we shall see,” another fan added.

“Christie Sides might be the worst coach I’ve ever seen. WHY WOULD YOU LET THAT OUT UNLESS YOU’RE PURPOSELY TRYING TO SET HER UP?” one fan added.

Hopefully, Clark doesn’t mind having that out there…
