She had an incredible game that she will never forget
WNBA rookie Cameron Brink made history in her most recent game by putting on a scoring clinic that almost any player would have been thrilled with.
Whilst much of the focus in the early stages of the new WNBA season is on Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, it is Brink who seems to have made the best start from a sporting perspective as she is shining with the Los Angeles Sparks.
Angel Reese inpires as role model for Dwyane Wade’s daughters
When she took on the Dallas Wings on Sunday night, Brink absolutely ran the show and she racked up 21 points with three blocks and two rebounds. After the match, it was confirmed that she made history by getting 12 points in the first quarter.
It was not as happy a day as Brink would have wanted through as the Sparks still lost 84-83.
“Cameron Brink and A’ja Wilson are the only WNBA players ever to score 12+ points with 2+ blocks in the opening quarter of a game,” per Women’s Hoops Network on X.
Brink can’t halt the Sparks’ poor form
Brink is playing very well but her team are not, as they have a 1-4 record for the start of the WNBA campaign. If they are to make any real dent, Brink will need to be consistent both offensively and defensively, whilst her teammates will also need to improve.
Brink recently played in front of a record WNBA crowd when the Sparks faced Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever.

The Fever beat the Los Angeles Sparks 78-73 to record their first win of the season and did so in front of a crowd of 19,103 spectators at the Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles. It was the highest attendance that the Sparks have ever recorded.
But even more crucially, it is 106 higher than what the Los Angeles Lakers and James managed for their largest crowd in a home game; 18,997, leading fans to mock the NBA for its apparent decline.
