Prince Harry Nearly ‘Exploded with Anger and Bitterness’ During Nigeria Trip with Meghan Markle

During a recent visit to Nigeria, Prince Harry was reportedly full of “anger and bitterness,” according to royal expert Angela Levin. The trip, part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Invictus Games, included visits to military headquarters, charity organizations, and a school for a mental health event.

Despite the seemingly successful visit, Levin pointed to one particularly awkward moment as the source of Harry’s frustration. The couple had to sit through a ceremony where the national anthem was played, standing stiffly and expressionless. Levin noted that rejecting the ceremony would have been a publicity nightmare.

“They were both standing up when they played God Save the King. They didn’t move. They didn’t even blink and they didn’t actually mouth a word,” Levin told GB News America. “They obviously had to do it to show respect for the King’s family. They couldn’t say no because that would have made a lot of publicity. They were quiet but they obviously hated it. I thought Harry would explode with anger and bitterness, to be honest.”

During their stay, the couple received a warm welcome from locals, who presented them with gifts, including a portrait of a young Prince Harry with Princess Diana. Meghan was particularly praised for engaging with the community, posing for selfies, and co-hosting a women’s leadership event with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization.

Despite the positive interactions, the tension during the anthem ceremony highlighted the ongoing complexities in Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family and public expectations.
