Earlier this year, Angel Reese experienced the violation of explicit photos being created using AI technology. Following similar incidents involving other prominent figures in women’s basketball, the recent top draft pick stood up in support of her peers.
Instances of AI-generated NSFW images involving celebrities have become alarmingly frequent. Among the latest targets are top WNBA draft pick Caitlin Clark and UConn standout Paige Bueckers.
Having firsthand knowledge of the distress caused by such invasions of privacy, Angel Reese voiced her concerns on social media. She is advocating for greater measures to safeguard young female athletes from such exploitation.

It’s significant to highlight that all three of these women are still in their youth. Reese will celebrate her 22nd birthday in May, while both Clark and Bueckers have reached that age. As they prepare to embark on their professional journeys, they are confronted with the challenge of fake explicit images circulating online.
In addition to Reese’s vocal stance, numerous fans have joined the chorus condemning the creation and dissemination of such images across social media platforms.
Angel Reese reacts to explicit AI photos being made of her
As previously noted, Angel Reese has unfortunately experienced this situation firsthand even before Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers became targets of AI-generated explicit photos.
In March, Reese once again utilized social media as a platform to express her perspective. Witnessing the proliferation of fake photos of this nature circulating online, she candidly shared her sentiments on the matter. Reese openly acknowledged feeling uncomfortable with and disapproving of being subjected to such sexualization through AI-generated content.

In 2022, Angel Reese made a significant impact when she transferred from Maryland to LSU, quickly becoming one of the highest earners in the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) realm of college sports. Her prowess extended beyond endorsements, as she also left her mark on the basketball court, contributing to LSU’s journey to a national championship in her inaugural season with the team.
Following a standout senior campaign where she boasted impressive averages of 18.6 points and 13.6 rebounds per game, Reese faced a pivotal decision. She deliberated between extending her collegiate career for another year or declaring for the 2024 WNBA draft. Ultimately, Reese chose to enter the draft, emerging as a top selection.
The Chicago Sky recognized Reese’s talent and potential, securing her as one of their top picks in the first round. After selecting Kamilla Cardoso with the third overall pick, they didn’t hesitate to add the LSU standout to their roster a few picks later, selecting her at No. 7 overall.
