Caitlin Clark has weighed in on Angel Reese’s taunts after initially claiming not to notice them. Reese has faced intense scrutiny and criticism for her actions during the NCAA women’s championship game between LSU and Iowa on Sunday. The Tigers clinched the national title with a 102-85 victory over their final opponents, and Reese ensured to flaunt it as the game neared its end, gesturing to her ring finger and delivering John Cena’s “You can’t see me” before celebrating the title win.

Speaking to ESPN on Tuesday, the Iowa star addressed the incident, actually coming to Angel’s defense. “I don’t think Angel should be criticized at all,” she offered. “No matter which way it goes, she should never be criticized for what she did. I compete, she competed. It was a super, super fun game. I think that’s what’s going to bring more people to our game.”

Speaking immediately after the game, Caitlin told reporters she didn’t notice the taunts as she was just looking to shake hands with everyone. She also noted that Reese was very complimentary toward her when they exchanged words in the wake of the contest.

“I doп’t thiпk Aпgel shoυld be criticized at all,” she offered. “No matter what way it goes, she shoυld пever be criticized for what she did. I compete, she competed.
“It was a sυper, sυper fυп game. I thiпk that’s what’s goiпg to briпg more people to oυr game.”

The 22-year-old point guard has also just been named the NCAA’s National Player of the Year following an incredible season on a personal front.
