Ja Morant and Angel Reese have recently found themselves in the spotlight of basketball media, albeit for controversial reasons. Morant faced criticism after sharing a video on Instagram Live that included a firearm, drawing concern and condemnation. Meanwhile, Reese received backlash for engaging in trash-talking directed at Caitlin Clark during the final of the NCAA Women’s Basketball tournament.
Despite the controversies surrounding them, both Morant and Reese recently came together and appeared to bond over shared experiences.

Morant was spotted doing the griddy dance and shouting, “It’s a parade outside my city.” While Morant and the Grizzlies were in New Orleans to face the Pelicans, it appears that Morant made a detour to Louisville to visit the LSU facility and meet up with Reese ahead of the LSU Tigers’ parade to celebrate their title win. Additionally, the Tigers have received an invitation to the White House, although Reese and First Lady Jill Biden are reportedly at odds.
A Parade Inside Memphis?
The Grizzlies, despite their youth, are eyeing an NBA Championship and aiming to establish a dynasty in the league. Holding the second seed in the Western Conference for the second consecutive season, they have accrued two seasons’ worth of playoff experience, positioning them for a strong postseason push. With their current standing, reaching the Conference Finals should be the minimum expectation.
Memphis boasts a well-rounded roster, featuring tough big men like Steven Adams and Xavier Tillman, as well as versatile forwards such as Santi Aldama. They have a dynamic starting guard in Ja Morant, complemented by the steady presence of Tyus Jones off the bench. Additionally, their lineup includes elite shooters like Desmond Bane and standout defenders like Jaren Jackson Jr., who is a top contender for Defensive Player of the Year.
With such a talented and balanced team, the Grizzlies are poised to gain recognition as legitimate contenders in the league. Their success will ultimately be determined by the depth of their playoff run this season.
