Reports indicate that Toronto Raptors center Jontay Porter allegedly managed a VIP betting account on FanDuel, where he reportedly placed bets totaling millions between 2021 and 2023.
The NBA initiated an investigation into Porter’s betting activities in March following reports of unusual betting patterns on his prop bets, as revealed by ESPN.
According to sources cited by The Action Network, Porter allegedly placed over 1,000 bets through FanDuel, amounting to millions wagered during this period.
“He was firing all of the time,” a source was quoted as saying.
One source told the publication that the sportsbook did not accept any bets from Porter on the NBA or college basketball.
The center played for three different G League teams during the period within which he was betting. All activity halted a few weeks before he signed a two-way contract with the Raptors.
Jontay Porter owned and operated a VIP account at FanDuel in Colorado that wagered millions of dollars in total from 2021 to 2023, per @ActionNetworkHQ

How The NBA Began To Suspect Jontay Porter
Jontay Porter came under scrutiny after his subpar performances coincided with significant profits for bettors, according to data from DraftKings. On two occasions when Porter left the floor early due to reported ailments, bettors who had wagered on the under for his prop bets reportedly profited.
Neither the player’s agent nor an NBA spokesperson responded to requests for comment from the Action Network.
Colorado gaming regulators instructed state sportsbooks to report any accounts believed to have been operated by Porter by last Thursday. They were given until this Monday to provide their findings.
“We are requesting that you review all patron accounts thoroughly to identify if Jontay Porter has ever had an account with your sportsbook,” stated a letter. “If so, please review Mr. Porter’s account for wagering activities on NBA-affiliated games. Note that all wagering activities by Mr. Porter on NBA-affiliated games shall be reported to the Division immediately.”
The NBA strictly prohibits players or employees from placing bets on its games or affiliated properties, including the G League and WNBA. Betting on other sports, however, is not explicitly forbidden.
Porter is currently on leave from the Raptors amid the ongoing investigation.
