Devin Booker and Kevin Durant don’t seem phased by the Phoenix Suns’ 2-0 disadvantage against the powerful Minnesota Timberwolves, who defended their home court on Tuesday night.
After the dismal 105-93 loss, questions were raised about the two outstanding Suns players’ prospects for game three at home in Arizona. Booker answered back: “Don’t count us out. It’s a series for a reason. I don’t think any road team’s won so far. I know that doesn’t have anything to do with us, but it’s just the situation that it is.”
KD: "Can't give up on us right now! Shit, need it more than anything. I know it's been a disappointing last couple games, even the season for our fans, but we need you more than ever now coming back home for Game 3.”— Gerald Bourguet (@GeraldBourguet) April 24, 2024
Additionally, Kevin Durant offered his advice about returning home: “Can’t give up on us right now! Sh*t, need it more than anything. I know it’s been a disappointing last couple games, even the season for our fans, but we need you more than ever now coming back home for Game 3.”
Durant, aged 35, was unable to replicate his remarkable performance from Game 1, where he tallied 31 points and grabbed seven rebounds, as reported by the NBA website. In Game 2, he managed only eighteen points. Meanwhile, the Suns faced difficulties, with Booker leading the team with 20 points.
Kevin Durant and Co. Need to Step Up in Game 3
Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker are shooting a combined 18-for-45. McDaniels has emerged as a significant contributor to this shooting slump. Despite taking an eight-point lead in the second quarter and trailing 51-50 at halftime, the Suns seemed fatigued as Towns found his rhythm after early foul trouble.
Edwards’ scoring ability played a pivotal role in the Wolves’ commanding 25-point victory in Game 1 on Saturday. Recognizing his threat, the Suns frequently deployed multiple defenders to pressure him and disrupt his flow.
