Meghan Markle’s Suits Co-Star Reveals Insights into Her Relationship with Prince Harry
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry appear to be “very much in love and happy,” according to one of the Duchess of Sussex’s former co-stars. Amid ongoing tensions between Prince Harry and the Royal Family, Meghan remains a steadfast support for her husband.
During their recent unofficial visit to Nigeria, the Sussexes captivated admirers with their loving and happy demeanor. This sentiment was echoed by Wendell Pierce, Meghan’s former Suits colleague, who spoke warmly about the couple’s evident affection.
At the Tony Awards on Sunday, Pierce, 60, shared with PEOPLE his impressions from reuniting with Meghan and Harry last year. “When [Meghan] came into town, she got an award last year. I had a chance to say hello and wish her and Prince Harry well and wish the children well,” Pierce recalled. “They look very much in love and were very happy, so that’s the most important thing.”
Wendell Pierce, who portrayed Meghan’s on-screen father in Suits until 2019, reminisced about their time working together and mentioned that they have remained in touch. “I’ve seen her just a few times since, and we’ve been able to reminisce and so it’s real, we have fond memories of working together,” he told the Mirror.
Pierce also expressed surprise at Suits’ resurgence in popularity last year when a new generation of fans began binge-watching the series on Netflix. Following this surge in viewership, it was announced that a spinoff series, Suits LA, featuring Arrow star Stephen Amell, would soon debut.
Speculation has been rife about whether Meghan might consider reprising her iconic role as Rachel Zane. The Duchess herself hinted at the possibility in a previous interview with Oprah Winfrey, stating she would “never say never” to returning to the role. Adding to this speculation, her former on-screen love interest, Patrick Adams, expressed enthusiasm for a potential return during this year’s Golden Globes. “Sure. Mike and Rachel in Seattle. They gotta come down to LA. They gotta fix some stuff,” Adams told Entertainment Tonight. “If I got the phone call, I’m ready to suit up again. I love the show, I love the character, and I loved working with all these people.”
The prospect of a Suits reunion continues to excite fans, while Meghan and Harry’s enduring affection remains a focal point of admiration.
