Rachel Nichols Compares Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark Rivalry to Two NBA Legends

Well over a year since their beef first began, the Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese rivalry is the sports world’s hottest topic right now.

This beef was reignited over the weekend once Reese’s teammate Chennedy Carter shoulder-checked Clark in the third quarter of the Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky game.

Reese could be seen celebrating her teammate’s dirty play from the sidelines.

And on Monday, Reese claimed that she was willing to be the “bad guy” in order to drive women’s basketball forward.

Sports personality Rachel Nichols joined “Undisputed” on Tuesday to make a bold comparison about how the Reese vs. Clark rivalry could turn out.

In one of the iconic moments of last year's NCAA women's tournament, Angel Reese of LSU points to her ring finger as Iowa's Caitlin Clark can only watch during the national championship game. LSU defeated Iowa 102 85.

“This whole [Clark and Reese] rivalry really does have the potential to grow into the kind of [Larry] Bird, Magic [Johnson] situation that lifted the NBA.

“I’m talking about the effect they had on the league,” Nichols added. “Bird and Magic just ushered in a whole new era in the NBA… and I think this rivalry has the potential to lift the WNBA.”

While it’s bold to compare two WNBA rookies to two absolute NBA legends, Nichols is right in assuming that this beef could blossom into something special for the sport.
