Earlier Tuesday night Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese had a professional career first when she earned her first block.

Unfortunately the night didn’t end on a high note as Reese picked up another career first. Late in the fourth quarter of tonight’s game against the New York Liberty Reese was ejected.

With just over two minutes and thirty second left on the clock, the No. 7 overall pick was battling with a Liberty player on the defensive end. The officials clearly thought Reese was doing a bit too much and was called for back-to-back technical fouls.

Reese finished the game with 13 points and 10 rebounds adding yet another double-double to her strong rookie season.

The former LSU star opened up earlier this week making it clear she loves the attention on the women’s game right now.

“I think so many people are watching women’s basketball right now,” Reese told reporters. “It all started from the [2023] national championship game and I’ve been dealing with this for two years now. Yeah, negative things have probably been said about me, but honestly, I’ll take that, because look where women’s basketball is. People are talking about women’s basketball that you would never think would be talking about women’s basketball.”

She also knows her place in the league’s growing viewership.

“I know I’ll go down in history. I’ll look back in 20 years and they’ll be like ‘Yeah, the reason why we’re watching women’s basketball is not just because of one person.’ It’s because of me, too. I want y’all to realize that,” Reese said.

Reese and the Sky ultimately fell 88-75 to the Liberty.
