Women’s basketball fans have been awaiting Caitlin Clark’s response to the news that she was not selected for Team USA’s 2024 Olympics roster ever since news broke early on Saturday morning.

And Clark was finally asked that question at the Fever’s practice facility on Sunday, while a Fever practice was underway.

Clark kept her answer pretty diplomatic, stating that she wasn’t disappointed, and that she looks forward to watching and rooting on the women who did make the roster.

Although her head coach Christie Sides shared a different story, when she was asked about her response to Clark being snubbed.

Sides noted that, in text messages between her and Clark, her rookie sensation told her, ‘hey coach, they woke a monster.'”

Sides is getting criticized by fans for sharing what was being to be a private message.

“Christie Sides might be the worst coach I’ve ever seen. WHY WOULD YOU LET THAT OUT UNLESS YOU’RE PURPOSELY TRYING TO SET HER UP?” one fan said.

“Coach shouldn’t have repeated what was said between she and Caitlin.” wrote another.

Perhaps Clark will be less open with her coach over the phone from now on.
