Skip Bayless declared Angel Reese’s post-game interviews on Caitlin Clark ‘reek of jealousy’ after the latest WNBA encounter between the two rookies. In the Chicago Sky’s defeat to the Indiana Fever, Reese struck Clark in the head before claiming the first overall pick receives a ‘special whistle’ in the aftermath.

Clark enjoyed a record-breaking spell at Iowa, leading the Hawkeyes to back-to-back National Championship appearances while departing college as the all-time leading scorer in NCAA history. The 22-year-old has taken the sports world by storm, with her rivalry against Clark transitioning to the WNBA from college.

Earlier in the season, the Fever’s 71-70 win over the Sky saw Clark floored by Chennedy Cartek, leading to much debate over how the guard has been treated since entering the league. At the time, Reese stood up and passionately celebrated the hit.

During Sunday’s game, Reese attempted to block a Clark layup only to thump the former Iowa star in the head. Reese insisted it was a ‘basketball play’, which it was and perhaps warranted no more than a flagrant foul.

But Reese also claimed Clark commanded a “special whistle”, suggesting she gets favorable calls. After the game, FOX Sports’ Bayless disregarded the Sky rookie’s comments.

“I listen to her postgames and yeah, she’s become the villain,” Bayless said on Monday’s edition of ‘Undisputed’. “I don’t think she wants to be the villain, but she’s become the protagonist. She’s the instigator.

“Her postgames reek a little bit of jealousy and bitterness. That’s how it comes across to me, but I don’t know. They’re still too young for to know for sure where they’re going to stand.”

During her postgame news conference, Clark – who finished with 23 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists – was asked what she was thinking after the foul. She said: “What’s going through my mind? It’s, ‘I’m gonna make these two free throws.’ That’s all I’m thinking about.

“It’s just part of basketball. It is what it is, you know, she’s trying to make a play on the ball and get the block. It happens.”

The “Stadium Clubhouse” team talks about the Angel’s Reese’s flagrant foul on Caitlin Clark in the game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky.

On why her rivalry with Reese commands so much attention, Clark added: “I think it’s just the emotion and the passion that we play with. I think people love to see that. And I think that’s maybe not something that was always appreciated in women’s sports, and it should be. I think that’s what makes it fun.”
