KATIE TAYLOR rebuffed Amanda Serrano’s claim that she will get knocked out in their July 20 rematch.

The Bray Bomber harked back to having already withstood Serrano’s biggest bombs in their April 2022 thriller.

This time around they'll be fighting at 140lbs which would seem to be a significant edge for Taylor as Serrano is usually operates at 125lbs

The Puerto Rican has stated that she intends on taking the outcome out of the judges’ hands amid the ongoing narrative that Taylor benefits from being the golden girl of boxing.

But speaking to irishboxing.com, Taylor gave that prediction short shrift.

Instead she insisted: “I feel like I’m a better fighter this time around.

“I’m smarter, I’m stronger, I’m better in every way. I took her biggest shots at the first fight.

“I take confidence and reassurance from that. Going into the second fight, I took her hardest fights.

“I took her hardest punches – I took them and I’m ready to go.

“July 20, I’ll be at my very, very best and we’ll see who the better fighter is.”

Since she will be 38 by the time fight night rolls around, Taylor also reflected on what still keeps her so motivated at an age where most are content to hang up their gloves.

She added: “Every time I step into the ring, I want to be the best.

“I want to be known as the best, and I hate to lose, so I just keep that in mind during training and that’s it.

“I put my body through the trenches and that allows me to put my body through the trenches on fight night as well, so I just can’t wait.

“This is going to be a phenomenal night.”

It does promise to be an incredible round two between them with the only blight being that it will ultimately be playing second fiddle to the match-up of Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson.

Although the women’s affair has been granted ‘co-main’ billing, it’s the other more freak show-ish pairing that is leading every poster.

Whether Paul-Tyson even goes ahead remains somewhat up in the air in the wake of the 57-year-old suffering a medical emergency on a flight last week.

The 1980s heavyweight king has broken his silence since his stomach ulcer flare-up to reassure fans that his health is nothing to be concerned about.

He doubled-down, tweeting: “Now feeling 100% even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.”

With Paul aged 27, Tyson is more than 30 years older than his adversary and there are concerns for Tyson’s health.

After paramedics rushed to Tyson’s flight from Miami to LA, a source told the New York Post: “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing.

“He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

An eyewitness said: “He was in first class, but we were an exit row.

“They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter. [The stewardess] said something like, ‘He’s a really important passenger so we wanna make sure he’s OK.’

“I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words ‘Mike Tyson’ and she nodded her head yes.”

Tyson previously said that he suffers from the nerve condition sciatica in the past, and that the condition has left him unable to walk and talk on occasion.
