Prince Harry makes a royal-style charity visit to help children of military parents in London – as brother Prince William and father King Charles make official visits elsewhere
Prince Harry surprised many today with a visit to Scotty’s Little Soldiers in London, where he spent time engaging with bereaved military children. Despite stepping back from his royal duties in 2020 and moving to America with Meghan, Harry’s appearance at the charity event reflected a sense of royal duty.
Dressed casually, Harry participated in games and conversations with around 50 children and young people who have lost a military parent. Expressing his support for the charity, Harry stated that he has long believed in their mission and is proud to be their first global ambassador.
Meanwhile, Prince William embarked on a significant project to address homelessness in Cornwall, visiting a plot of land for the construction of housing. King Charles, currently undergoing cancer treatment, met military personnel and families at an Army training base in Surrey, while Queen Camilla hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace for the 90th anniversary of Brooke, a charity dedicated to working animals.
Despite hopes of a meeting between Harry and his father during his visit to the UK, Harry’s spokesperson confirmed it would not be possible due to the King’s busy schedule. Nevertheless, Harry’s involvement with Scotty’s Little Soldiers, dating back to 2017, reflects his ongoing commitment to supporting bereaved children, as seen through his participation in charity events and heartfelt messages to its members.
