Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) talks to Seattle Storm guard Victoria Vivians (35) following being run into after making a three-pointer, Thursday, May 30, 2024, during the WNBA game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The basketball world was thrown on its head on Saturday morning, when it was announced that Caitlin Clark would not be included in the 12-player Team USA women’s basketball roster for the upcoming Summer Olympics.

While it wasn’t known whether Clark was likely to earn a spot, there are a few players who made the team that WNBA fans aren’t happy about.

The 12-player roster is: A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Alyssa Thomas, Napheesa Collier, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Sabrina Ionescu, Chelsea Gray, and Kahleah Cooper.

It’s an elite roster that’s all but guaranteed to win a gold medal.

But fans wanted to see Clark.

The inclusion of an almost 42 year old Diana Taurasi over Clark is what really has fans up in arms.

“Clark should have Diana spot she need to hang it up,” one X user wrote.

“Diana Taurasi is 41 years old… how is she still on the team?” said another.

One fan was upset that Brittney Griner got the nod over Clark.

“Brittney Griner hasnt played a game this season and made the team but caitlin didnt???”

Fans will be furious about this one for a while.
