Fans are unsure what to make of A’ja Wilson’s new Nike logo following its unveiling.
The sportswear company announced that Wilson would be getting her own signature sneakers in 2025 before the start of the current season, which will put her alongside Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu in this regard.
Nike unveiled the Las Vegas Aces star’s logo this past Saturday. Check it out below:
While fans were hyped over the upcoming shoes, they couldn’t rock with the branding as they had no idea what it was supposed to be.
“Logo looks cool but can someone please explain what I’m looking at? I don’t get it lol,” a confused user wrote.
“Need to know the story behind the logo cause right now I’m kinda not feeling it? I am still very happy for A’ja though! This is well deserved!,” another noted.
“Umm.. . Well, if you like it, I love it A’ja,” a fan offered.
“Y’all could’ve did way better with that logo but I’m still gonna support my girl,” another commented.
“A’ja my girl but I’m not feeling this logo lol,” said another.
“a star blob? out of anything in the world they could have come up with that’s what they chose?,” someone else asked.
“I ain’t even gonna lie to yall, I don’t know what I’m looking at as far as the logo. It’s hard tho,” another comment read.
Nike Explains A’ja Wilson’s Logo Amid The Confusion
Nike has since explained A’ja Wilson’s logo in a statement.
According to the company, it’s meant to depict an “A” drawn into a star, which is how the player writes her signature.
“A’ja Wilson’s star-shaped signature logo is inspired by her distinctive style, incredible performance and unapologetic realness,” they wrote. “Coincidentally, she always drew a star in the ‘A’ of her signature, which is accentuated in her logo in an energetic and playful way.
“The base shape of the logo incorporates strong, bold lines, symbolizing the strength and support she brings to her team. Design doesn’t get more genuine to A’ja than this.”
Still don’t see it, sorry.
