Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will have the unfortunate task of facing the Connecticut Sun at least one more time during the 2024 season.
Aside from one game, the two other contests have been complete and utter blowouts.
The Connecticut Sun, one of the WNBA’s best teams, came into their next game with a 9-1 record and had very little trouble dealing with Caitlin Clark and the 3-9 Indiana Fever at Mohegan Sun Arena.
After defeating the Fever, Sun guard DiJonai Carrington, who openly mocked Clark after fouling her on the perimeter in the second quarter, was asked if the Sun changed up the way they guarded Clark the third time around.
“I think the scout was similar to the last time,” Carrington said when asked about the Sun’s defensive strategy. “We switched some things up. It was a lot of one-on-one. We didn’t trap as much.”
Teammate Tyasha Harris would soon chime in with her own blunt response.
“It’s seat belt season for her,” Harris told reporters.
That was a clear jab to Clark, who went 3 of 8 from the field for 10 points. It was her fourth-fewest points scored of the season, per ESPN.com.
During the game, Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington had a viral moment with Clark as she flailed her head back and forth to show that she flopped and sold a foul call during the game.
Clark could be seen looking back and holding her arms out in confusion but didn’t really respond to the antics.
Caitlin Clark Misses Out On 2024 Olympics
USA Basketball made the controversial decision not to have Caitlin Clark on the U.S. women’s Olympic roster.
This is the first time in Olympic history that the U.S. women’s basketball team doesn’t feature a player under the age of 25 on the roster.
Clark wasn’t the only talented player left off the team, but she was arguably the most famous.
