The second WNBA battle between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark provided more drama as Clark’s Indiana Fever won again over the Chicago Sky, 91-83, in Indianapolis Sunday.

Clark had one of her more efficient games of her rookie season, leading all scorers with 23 points and adding nine assists.

For the Sky, Reese put up another double-double with 11 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.

After Chennedy Carter put a hard hit on Clark in the first battle between the two teams, it was Reese who made contact with Clark on Sunday for a flagrant foul.

Reese was late on a block attempt of Clark, who was moving to the basket for an attempted layup. Instead of making contact with the ball, Reese’s arm struck Clark aside the head, sending her to the floor.

Reese told ESPN after the game that she disagreed with the call, saying it was simply “a basketball play.”

“I can’t control the refs,” Reese said. “The affected the game a lot tonight … I’m always going for the ball. But y’all going to play that clip 20 times before Monday.”

Clark also downplayed the foul after the game.

It’s just part of basketball,” she said. “It is what it is. Trying to make a play on the ball, get the block. I mean, it happens.”
