Caitlin Clark’s fiery temper flared up once more during the Fever vs. Storm game Thursday night, and it cost her big time once again.
Due to her cumulative technical foul total for the season, Clark has now entered the risk zone for a potential suspension from the WNBA. It was Clark’s third technical foul in her first nine WNBA games when she got in the face of guard Victoria Vivians of the Seattle Storm on Thursday night, and the two were given double technical fouls in Indiana.
After making a logo three-pointer, Clark turned to sprint back down the court and ran into the Storm guard. This infuriated Vivians, who proceeded to pop Clark in the face and neck. It goes without saying that Clark was upset about this and began to vent to Vivians.
The incident enthralled the home crowd, but Clark might have to miss a game shortly as a result.
Clark is only four technical fouls away from being suspended. The WNBA suspends its players for one game once they get their seventh technical foul of the season, via WNBA.com.
Players get an additional game for every other technical after that.
The Indiana Fever lost again on Thursday night, falling to the Seattle Storm 103-88 at home despite 20 points and nine assists from Caitlin Clark.
Clark got hot, scoring 12 points in the second quarter after the first went scoreless. That included two threes, the second of which led to a small altercation between Victoria Vivians of Seattle and Clark.
Clark also collected three boards and blocked one shot (she leads Indiana in blocks this season with 10), but she also committed seven turnovers.
Caitlin Clark Frustrated After Another Fever Loss
Caitlin Clark was visibly frustrated after she and Indiana head coach Christie Sides were both hit with technicals in a 103-88 blowout loss to the Storm on Thursday night.
“I feel like I’m getting hammered, I don’t know,” Clark said in a postgame press conference.
“I appreciate Christie getting a tech too. I don’t know.”
Earlier this month, she was hit with a tech after telling a referee, “It’s a f–king foul,” in an 88-84 loss to the Connecticut Sun.
Indiana will get another chance to get their second win when they host Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky (3-3) on Saturday.
