A former NFL quarterback is calling for Angel Reese to be suspended for her play against Caitlin Clark on Sunday afternoon.

Angel Reese vs. Indiana Fever

Reese was called for a flagrant foul against Clark in the second half of Sunday’s Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky game. The Fever topped the Sky in a close contest. Reese was called for a flagrant foul for her smack to the head of Clark.

Former NFL quarterback Matt Leinart is calling for Reese to be suspended for the play.

“Angel Reese should be suspended. Period. Not good for the game,” he wrote.

He added: “No one is soft bud. It’s repetitive tho. Bad for the game.”

Reese, meanwhile, is blaming the referees for what happened on the play.

“It was a basketball play. I can’t control the refs. They affected the game obviously a lot today,” she told reporters.

“I’m always going for the ball. Y’all are going to play that clip 20 times before Monday.”

The Fever improved to 5-10 on the season with the win over the Sky on Sunday afternoon. It was their second win in the rivalry this year.
